GBDA 401- Capstone Project - MOVE Application
ROLE: Visual Designer and Creative Director
For my 4A Capstone project at the University of Waterloo, my group and I were tasked with creating a solution to the RSA case study entitled Alone Together, the purpose was to create a solution to combat loneliness. Together we created MOVE, a fitness application that connects potential work-out partners based on gender preferences, skill level and location. I served as a visual designer as well as creative director for the team, creating and consulting designs and assisting in the UX design of our application prototype.
Finally, after months of research, testing, reiterating, creating business model canvases and perfecting our wireframes, we present the final prototype. The prototype was designed in collaboration with myself and our teams other UX designer. The prototype includes a streamlined on-boarding process as well as all application features features listed above.
I was very satisfied with the outcome of our project, and though this was one of my first serious venture into responsive, accessible mobile UX design, our prototype was well received. I learned plenty throughout this project about the importance of thorough, well thought out research, creating personas and scenarios, journey-mapping, both service and human centered design and not being afraid to go through as many possible iterations of a design as you can until the team is completely satisfied with the results.
Below are a few key screens of the prototype we created.
